What are blue light glasses?

• Blue light glasses (also commonly referred to as blue light blockers or blue blocker glasses) are designed to help reduce the amount of high-energy visible (HEV) blue light spectrum that reaches your eyes. Our Blokz® blue light blocking lenses are made with specific blue light-blocking monomers. Think of these as tiny filters that are embedded or "baked" directly into the lens material for maximum blue light protection that won't wear away. This targeted filtration helps reduce the intensity of blue light reaching your eyes without compromising your visual clarity, giving you peace of mind while you work and play!

• ​​​​​All Zenni Blokz lenses are made by Mitsui Chemicals in Japan, a global leading provider of ophthalmic lens materials and technologies.

What does "virtually clear" mean?

Our standard Blokz lenses are designed to block HEV blue light while remaining as clear as lens technology currently allows. Keep in mind that if you have an occupation or hobby that requires precise color perception (graphic design, photography, art, videography), you may notice a very subtle tint.

Why is the lens yellow?

• Yellow is the complementary color of blue. The more yellow a lens is, the more blue light protection.

• The amount of blue-light-blocking polymer added to the lens will determine the amount of yellow that is visible in the lens.

• Some customers with moderate to high prescription strength may notice a darker yellow tint due to the increased lens thickness.

• Some customers with a significantly stronger prescription in one eye may notice a darker yellow tint in one lens due to the difference in lens thickness.

Does Blokz® come with an anti-reflective coating?

• All Blokz lenses (clear and tinted) include an anti-reflective coating to reduce glare, reflections, and halos around lights at night, improving visual clarity and the appearance of your glasses. ​​​​​​​​​​
